Size Charts
Size charts and measurement information are available directly on our product pages to help you choose the right size before ordering.
Where Can I Find the Size Chart?
For most products on SaveOnShirts.ca, size charts can be found in the Additional Information section of the product page.
For Gildan products: size charts and sizing information are located in the Description section of the product page.
Our product size charts include garment measurements. Many products also include a manufacturer's body measurement or general sizing guide to provide additional help when selecting a size.
Garment Measurements vs. Body Measurements
Garment Measurements
Garment measurements are the actual measurements of the finished shirt, sweatshirt, jacket or other item. These measurements are especially useful when comparing a product to a garment you already own that fits you well.
For the most accurate comparison, lay one of your own garments flat on a table and compare its measurements with the garment measurements shown on the product page.
Body Measurements
Body measurements are measurements of the person who will wear the garment. Depending on the manufacturer and product, these may include chest, bust, waist, hip or sleeve measurements.
When a body sizing guide is provided, use it as an additional reference. Because fit can vary between brands and styles, we recommend also checking the actual garment measurements whenever possible.
How to Measure a Garment
Choose a similar shirt, sweatshirt or other garment that already fits you well. Lay it flat on a table or other smooth surface without stretching the fabric, then use a measuring tape to take the appropriate measurements.
- Chest Width: Measure straight across the garment from approximately one inch below one armpit to the same point below the opposite armpit.
- Body Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder near the collar straight down to the bottom hem.
- Sleeve Length: Follow the measurement method shown on the product's size chart. Depending on the manufacturer, sleeve length may be measured from the shoulder seam or from the centre back of the neck.
- Waist or Other Measurements: If the product chart provides additional garment measurements, measure your garment at the corresponding location and compare the results.
Tip: Do not stretch the garment while measuring. For the best comparison, measure a similar style of garment. For example, compare a T-shirt to another T-shirt rather than to a fitted jacket or sweatshirt.
How to Choose the Right Size
Start with a garment you already own that fits the way you like. Measure it while lying flat and compare those measurements with the garment measurements listed for the product you are considering.
Pay particular attention to whether the chart lists a half measurement or a full measurement. A half-chest measurement is the width of the garment measured flat from side to side, while a full-chest garment measurement is approximately twice that amount.
Sizes can vary between manufacturers and even between different styles from the same brand, so we recommend checking the size chart for the specific product you are ordering rather than assuming that a Medium or Large will fit the same across every item.
